6 Foods You Should NEVER Reheat in the Microwave

There are certain things in our kitchen that we’ve gotten so used to having around, that we feel like we could’t live without them anymore. There are refrigerators, toasters, sinks with running water, and most importantly, microwaves.

Microwaves work by using a fancy vacuum tube called a magnetron that generates tiny waves of radiation that heat our food up from the inside, unlike a flame or electric coil which would cook our food from the outside.

Due to their use of radiation, many people are still weary of microwaves, even though they’ve been around for decades now, and several studies have successfully proven that the radiation waves reflect off of the metal screen embedded in the glass door, and can not escape the microwave itself.

So, since the waves can’t get out to harm us, can they harm our food?

Here’s a list of common everyday foods that may be prejudicial to your health depending on the way they’re stored, cooked, or re-heated.

How to Relieve a Toothache Fast Using Tea Bags (Toothache Home Remedies)

While you wait to get to a dentist to fix the underlying cause of your toothache, turn to your kitchen pantry for this natural toothache remedy.

Anyone who’s ever had a toothache in their life knows that it’s one of the most irritating types of pain that human beings can experience. It’s also one of the most common types, and it generally takes us by surprise. Contrary to what most think, it’s not always caused by a bad tooth.

Tooth aches can occur due to various reasons, but they normally occur in response to an inflammation in the dental pulp, commonly known as the canal or nerve. So it’s very hard to know how to treat toothaches. Ideally you should go to a dentist so that he can tell you what is causing the pain and how to treat it correctly.

But what about when you’re in pain and can’t go to the dentist immediately? What do you do then?

In today’s video we’re going to teach you a very simple trick that can help you relieve toothaches at home.

All you need is a tea bag and a little water.

Choose a type of tea that is rich in tannic acid. Green tea and black tea are great choices.

This is due to the fact that the tannins present in these teas are great at reducing swelling and increasing our blood’s ability to clot, aiding in the healing process. Here’s what to do:

Put the teabag on a flat plate. Add just enough water to cover the teabag.

Heat up the plate for 15 to 30 seconds in the microwave. Once the time is up, remove the teabag and wring it out.

Place the warm tea bag in your mouth, covering your aching tooth and gum. Bite down on it and hold it in place with your lips in order to keep the heat inside your mouth. If you can’t do that, hold it in place with your hand and try to keep your mouth as closed as possible.

As soon as the tea bag cools off you may remove it from your mouth. You can repeat this process anytime you feel the need to.

Another important thing is that some toothaches get worse with heat, and others with cold. If you feel like your toothache has gotten worse after this treatment then that means it’s sensitive to heat and you need to put the tea bag in your mouth after it’s cooled off.

How To Unclog a Kitchen Sink Drain (Fast and Cheap Method)

In today’s video we’re going to show you a cheap, natural alternative to unclog your kitchen sink.

Whenever you’re washing dishes and start noticing that water in the sink is backing up, that means that the drain is probably clogged. This problem will most likely end up happening to someone who isn’t careful and doesn’t take the most basic precautions.

Most of the time, the back up happens due to a build up of fat in the pipes. When we rinse fat down the drain it’s normally liquid, but ends up congealing and blocking pipes.

Pieces of food and vegetable or fruit peel can also pile up where the pipes curve and keep the water from flowing.

So what do you do when this happens? Do you call a plumber? Do you buy a chemical product to unclog your sink?

Most people probably don’t know that these product contain harmful substances that can cause skin irritations and breathing problems.

Do you have any other tips for unclogging sink drains? Tell us about them in the comment section!

Try This Effective Face Mask to Shed 10 Years From Your Face

Do you have spots on your face?

The dark splotches that can appear on our faces, also known as hyperpigmentation, can be caused by several different factors such as sun exposure, hormonal fluctuations, or even certain medications.

Another very common problem are scars, especially acne scars caused by popping pimples.

Both of these problems can affect a person’s self-esteem, and cause them to search for cosmetic products to lessen their appearance.

In today’s video we’re going to teach you a great face mask that can help get rid of splotches and lessen the appearance of scars, all while making your skin glow.

This recipe calls for one special ingredient which is both easy to find and cheap.

The first ingredient is rice powder, an ingredient that has been used for hundreds of years in some countries in Asia as an anti-aging treatment.

This powder is rich in vitamins and minerals, and can nurture and exfoliate your skin in order to remove splotches. In Feudal Japan, it was frequently used by geishas to make their skin look like porcelain and reduce hyperpigmentation, as well as protecting against UV rays and premature aging.

Rice powder can absorb the oil from our skin, making it great for people who are acne prone. It also contains anti-inflammatory and lightening properties, making it great at reducing the appearance of sun exposure.

Here’s the recipe:

Ingredients

1 cup of raw rice or rice powder;
Milk or honey (enough to make a paste);

Instructions

If you can’t find any rice powder, you can even use grains of rice. In that case, start by putting the rice in a blender;

Blend for two minutes until it forms a flour-like substance;

Sift the flour;

This amount of rice yields a lot, so store the rest in a glass jar for future applications;

Mix 2 tablespoons of the rice flour with a little milk or honey;

Apply the mixture to your skin and massage, gently;

Let the mask dry and then rinse it off with plenty of water.

If your skin is oily, you can repeat this application more than once a week. If your skin is dry, then once a week should be enough.

But before applying, you should do an allergy test. Apply a small amount of the mixture to the arm and see if any allergic reaction occurs. If you are not irritated, you can use it normally.

Just petting a cat can bring us great health advantages, because it reduces our anxiety and nervousness.

Healthier heart

Interacting with a cat (or dog) can actually lower our blood pressure. A recent study showed that cat owners are 40 percent less likely to have a heart attack.

5 Foods That Could Secretly Be Giving You Body Odor

We tend to associate body odor with a lack of hygiene or excessive sweating. But there are actually several other factors that can contribute to an unpleasant bodily smell.

This awkward condition may also be associated with health problems like diabetes, liver problems or even your eating habits. In today’s video we’re going to show you a few foods that can contribute to your body odor:

Garlic
Legends say that garlic can scare away vampires, and that’s because it can actually scare off humans. Sulfur has a terrible smell that manifests itself through our sweat after it’s been digested. Bell peppers, radishes, onions, and cabbages are other foods that are rich in sulfur. All of these foods have health benefits, but you have to limit their intake if you want to avoid bad odors.

Milk products
Cheese is very hard to digest, and can end up altering your body odor. Furthermore, cow and goat’s milk, due to their slower digestion, causes fermentation progress that may make you sweat more than usual. It’s the perfect combination for body odor.

Tomatoes
If you observe the tomato closely, you’ll see that it almost smells like sweat. This is due to some compounds called terpenes that can, in fact, alter your body odor, making it worse.

Red meat
Just like milk, red meat is digested slowly in our stomach, and our intestines have a hard time absorbing it. So, when it begins to decompose, it can negatively affect both your flatulence and your bowel movements. If you’re opposed to the idea of not eating red meat, then you should at least reduce your intake to a maximum of twice a week.

Fish
Eating fish can also cause bad body odor. Trimethylamine oxide, the compound that gives fish their smell, is released through our breath and sweat, altering the smell of both.

You Don’t Need To Shower Everyday, Here’s Why…

Long ago, access to water and basic hygiene weren’t as much of a big deal as they are today. Both showers and bathrooms are actually a relatively modern thing.

Most ancient societies limited themselves to standing in the rain or bathing in streams daily to get rid of the dust and dirt that would build up on their skin. They would use a soap-like concoction about once a week.

Some, such as the Greeks and Romans didn’t even use soap. Instead they would spread oil on their skin after bathing to bind the dirt, and then scrape it off with a small instrument.

Nowadays, however, a large emphasis is placed on the habit of bathing every single day, but it actually might be doing more harm than good.

Consider these 4 examples:

It’s a waste of water
It dries you out
It washes away all bacteria (good and bad)
You don’t need it as much as you think you do
